A small sampling of NITL members responded to a survey conducted by the association to determine members' experience and opinions of the voluntary C-TPAT security initiative. Of those participating in the program, over 70% said they believed third party logistics providers (3PLs) should participate as full members. Two thirds felt there were tangible benefits to participating, and nearly 80% said their experience working with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) was good.

All of the shippers participating in the program said they would recommend participation.
